Maine College of Art & Design Scholarship

Each year, Maine College of Art & Design awards millions of dollars in scholarships to students entering the BFA program. The Office of Admissions awards renewable merit-based scholarships ranging from $12,000–$22,000 at the time of admission.
They also offer two special scholarships—applications are due February 1, 2023—which your students may qualify for:
Full Tuition Scholarship
MECA&D offers one renewable full tuition scholarship each year to a first-year student coming directly from high school to attend the Bachelor of Fine Arts Program.
To be considered for this scholarship competition students must:
— Be a high school senior applying for Fall 2023 admission
— Complete a full BFA application for Fall 2023 by February 1, 2023
— Submit a portfolio through SlideRoom
BFA Racial Justice Scholarships
Awarded to students of color, Racial Justice Scholarships are for first-year students and transfer students who demonstrate merit and financial need. They range between $1,500–$5,000, are renewable each year the student is enrolled at MECA&D, and are in addition to merit-based scholarships listed above.
To be eligible students should:
— Identify as a student of color
— Submit a FAFSA to MECA&D by February 1, 2023
— Complete a BFA application for Fall 2023 by February 1, 2023

Connecticut Society Daughters of the American Revolution (CTDAR)
Application Deadline: February 13, 2023
Each year the Connecticut Society Daughters of the American Revolution (CTDAR) awards up to four (4) $1,000 scholarships each to deserving high school seniors who plan to enter college as freshmen the year after they graduate from high school.
Applicants for the four (4) CTDAR Scholarships must be residents of Connecticut and citizens of the United States (U.S.), members of the senior class of any secondary school, give evidence of good character and rank scholastically in the upper 25% of their class or be members of the National Honor Society.
Students do not need to be members of the DAR to apply for this scholarship. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, scholastic ability, character and leadership potential. Chapter sponsorship is required for CTDAR scholarships. Students who wish to be considered may send a request letter to the DAR Chapter listed below via email and include their class rank. A student request for an application must be received by the CTDAR State Scholarship Chair no later than January 30, 2023.
After our chapter issues a letter of sponsorship on behalf of the student, the CTDAR State Scholarship Chair will send the application directly to the student by email.
All completed applications must be postmarked by February 13, 2023 and mailed to

Columbus Citizens Foundation Scholarship

The contest is open to all Connecticut students under the age of 21 who are enrolled in grades 9-12, or their equivalent, at an accredited high school, vocational-technical school, or adult high school credit diploma program located within the State of Connecticut. The contest is also open to all Connecticut homeschooled students in grades equivalent to 9-12.
Grand Prize - $2,000
Two Runner-Up Prizes - $1,000 each
Essays will be judged by federal and state court judges, law professors, and attorneys. An awards ceremony will be held at the Connecticut Supreme Court in Spring 2023.
Entries must be submitted through the auspices of the Connecticut school the student attends, with the exception of homeschooled students. Each teacher shall select no more than three entries per class. Teachers of any subject may submit entries. There is no limit on the number of teachers who may submit entries from a single school. School counselors may submit no more than three entries per semester. There is no limit on the number of school counselors who may submit entries from a single school.

Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship
Application Deadline: February 28, 2023
The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Auxiliary awards 13 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 to qualified graduates of high schools in the area served by Charlotte Hungerford Hospital who are intending to pursue a career in a healthcare related field.
Ten of these scholarships are financed by the Auxiliary. Two scholarships of $1,000 are made possible by the generous bequest from the late Dr. J. Alfred Fabro and the family of the late Dr. Joseph Curi. An additional scholarship, donated by Drs. Beth Whalen and Terrance Ryan, is specifically for graduates of Torrington High School or Oliver Wolcott Technical School.
All applications must be typed and all required components of the application, including the Checklist (see included), must be in one envelope and submitted by USPS mail postmarked no later than February 28, 2023 (no exceptions to this cutoff date).

The Torrington High School Scholarship application, a checklist and a list of available scholarships for seniors that are currently available through Torrington High School (additions and deletions to these scholarships may occur) is now available. Interested seniors must complete the Torrington High School Scholarship Packet. The scholarships denoted by an asterisk (*) require that students demonstrate financial need. Therefore, you will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. After submission of your FAFSA form, you will receive your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) followed by the Student Aid Report (SAR).
In order to be considered for these scholarships, the following items must be returned to Mrs. Boutin (either by dropping off in the Guidance Office or emailing them to her at [email protected].)

Community Foundation of Northwest Connecticut Scholarships
Application Deadline: April 1, 2023
This year, the Community Foundation will administer more than 30 scholarship funds. Applications are available online at www.northwestcf.org/scholarships and must be submitted by April 1, 2023.

The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund

This fund offers renewable, four-year scholarships to students from New England with financial need. Successful candidates display academic achievement, sustained service to others, good character, leadership qualities and a history of part-time employment.

Connecticut Junior Soccer Association Scholarship
Application Deadline: Must be received no later than April 30, 2023
The Board of Directors of the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association has established a scholarship fund for graduating seniors. Applicants must have
participated with a CJSA affiliated club, have a C+ or better average and anticipate
attending college as a freshman in September of 2023.
All applications must be complete and sent in its entirety in one package to the CJSA Office.

PB & J Foundation Scholarship

The PB&J Scholarship is for students who have experienced personal challenges that may not have allowed them to perform well academically, but who still have the drive to succeed.
Examples of personal challenges include, but are not limited to:
- medical issues
- peer issues: bullying, change of school, minority status, etc.
- family issues: divorce, death, lack of income, homelessness, foster care, abuse, etc.
